Hi I’m Deb

Recovering People Pleaser. Former Good Girl. No-BS Truth Teller.

By 9, I was battling depression. By 14, I was deep in an eating disorder. By 20, my body felt like a war zone—chronic fatigue, weight that wouldn’t budge, painful periods, depression that wouldn’t lift. Doctors told me to diet harder, exercise more, push through. Nothing worked.

For years, I believed I was the problem. That my body was wrong. My emotions were too much. That if I could just fix myself, I’d finally feel free.

So I tried—every course, every framework, every “proven” method. I did everything I was told would fix me. I shrank myself, played nice, pushed through. I followed the rules. But no matter how much I contorted myself to fit, I still felt lost.

Then came a near-death experience that forced me to wake up.

I went looking for answers—collecting qualifications, studying the science, diving into spirituality. I unravelled everything I had been taught to believe about myself—about my body, my worth, my voice. The deeper I went, the more I saw how the systems designed to ‘help’ us were actually keeping us small, stuck, and silent.

So I stopped staying silent. I spoke out—about sexual assault, about the way women are gaslit into doubting themselves, about how we’re conditioned to shrink, be nice, stay quiet. How this is harming us.

We’re told to push through, do more, try harder. But what if freedom isn’t about doing more? What if it’s about unlearning, untangling, and finally trusting yourself again?

I don’t have all the answers. But I know this:

  • You were never the problem.

  • Your body is not the enemy.

  • Your power was never outside of you.

I’m not here to give you a five-step plan. I’m not here to be your guru.

I’m here to challenge the systems that keep us small, to speak the truths we’ve been told to ignore, and to remind you of the one thing you were never supposed to forget:

You already have everything you need.

Who is The HERd?

Step Out of the Good Girl Mould

The HERd is more than a community—it’s a movement.

For too long, women have been pitted against each other. Conditioned to compete, to compare, to tear each other down. We've been taught to stay small, stay quiet, stay in line—and if we do speak up, to do it alone.

We’ve been told that our power is a threat. That our voices are “too much.” That we should be nice, be agreeable, be easy to digest.

And we’ve seen the cost.

We shrink ourselves. We silence each other. We internalise the shame, the blame, the fear. We protect predators over each other. We keep playing by the rules of a system that was never built for us.

But enough.

The HERd is about rewriting that story. It’s about stepping out of the “good girl” mould, rejecting the competition and conditioning that keep us divided, and coming together instead of pulling each other apart.

Here, we don’t make ourselves smaller to fit.
We don’t apologise for taking up space.
And we sure as hell don’t stay quiet.

This isn’t just a space for healing.
This is a space for reclaiming. For rising. For being HERd..
