Ricotta Pancakes Recipe

Do you struggle to eat breakfast?

I commonly hear from clients that they aren’t hungry in the morning , don’t like to eat breakfast or heard somewhere from someone skipping breakfast is good for weight loss.

Eating breakfast can be especially hard the morning after a binge. Where your tummy is feeling bloated, your mood may be low and all you want to do is punish yourself or start a diet to ‘make up’ for food eaten the day before.

However, skipping breakfast may actually be causing you to overeat or binge later in the day. You may not ‘feel’ hungry but that doesn’t mean your body doesn’t need the nutrients and fuel to help you start the day and fight off impending cravings.

Eating breakfast can help:

  • Increase energy and focus

  • Improve mood

  • Prevent ravenous and extreme hunger

  • Stabilise blood sugar to reduce cravings

  • Reduce the likelihood of a binge

I used to skip breakfast too until I started to feel and see the benefits breakfast had on the rest of my day. I no longer feel ravenous by 10am, crave foods I don’t actually want or need 5 coffees to get me to lunch. I have energy and can focus on what’s important to me rather than always thinking, dreaming and obsessing about food or my next meal.

If you’re struggling to find breakfast ideas, below is my absolute favourite go to breakfast - ricotta pancakes. Packed with protein and energy, a little sweetness AND you can be as creative and exciting with the toppings as you like. What a fun way to start the day.
