Weight, What?

A blog written by Deb Sarah
Hi, I am Deb Sarah, Health Coach and Eating Disorder Therapist - dog lover, weight lifter and watercolour enthusiast.
I teach you how to heal your relationship with food, your mind and your body. So that you can eat without guilt and shame.
I am so excited to bring to you my newest project, a blog called, “Weight, What?”
So what is this blog about?
This blog has been designed to challenge the diet culture rhetoric currently in the media and society which idolises smaller bodied people, food restriction, deprivation and perpetuates weight stigma and fat shaming. You are more than your body.
Your body is not a billboard for the world to judge, it is your home, your home deserves better.
As such, this blog will NOT tell you what to eat, how you must move your body or how you should look.
It WILL, provide you with the tools to help pave the way for you to reconnect with yourself and live your most authentic life. So that you can make empowered decisions regarding your body, food and movement for yourself.
This blog, is a safe, supportive and inclusive platform where everyone is welcome. Where we can deep dive into difficult and important topics such as eating disorders, mental health, body image, shame and self-worth issues. With the intention of breaking down weight and mental health stigma.
“By talking about our shame, you can start to release and unburden yourself from it. ”
There is more to health than your body size and the food you eat. It’s time we start discussing the reality of what diets do to your body and the destructive impact they can have on your mental health. Smaller bodied does not mean you are healthier, happier or more successful.
“You can be happy, healthy and successful at any size.”
I look forward to sharing with you, real and raw posts from people who have experienced the impact of diet culture, who are living with mental health issues, eating disorders and how they have overcome them or are managing them now. As well as, practical tools and evidence based information so that you may explore your relationship with food, your mind, your body and take actionable steps to create and live your version of your healthiest life.
Not society's version of health, but the version of health that lights you up, brings you energy and makes you sparkle. It’s your body, it’s your choice.
